Domain Name Scam

Venue Communications, Inc. can help protect you from domain name scams.

Some domain scam artists (I use artists loosely) will attempt to deceive people into switching to their registration services. One way they do this is to send renewal notices way in advance of the actual expiration of the domain registration to individuals who are registered with other companies. Confused by the requests and unaware that the company sending the notice is not their actual registrar, many accidentally renew with the new company.  This new company clearly is deceiving you from the start, so our advise is they will be glad to sell your domain name to the highest bidder if they do succeed in getting your business, so stay away from them.

To protect our clients we are now offering Domain Privacy.  If you have already sent them money, it may be too late.  If you still have their contact information try asking for your money back.  If you mailed in a check try stopping payment.  If you have any success let us know so we can advise other clients.

If you are unsure about any transfer information, renewal forms, or other materials you receive regarding your domain name, contact us immediately.
